The route

 


                            

                                   5 200 Km between Antibes and Saly                                                      

(Senegal). 5 countries will be crossed.


There are two stages to the race.


First stage-2 500 Km

Teams will drive through Spain, down to Algeciras.

Then they will take a ferry to Tanger (80 mn) and will continue to Marrakech, the first check point and first nights rest.

Teams will have had a maximum of 36 hours to complete this first step.



Second Stage-2 700 Km

The teams will continue to the South of Marocco, then cross the Sahara to the border with Mauritania.

Once in Mauritania, the teams will head for Nouatchok along “Desert Road”, an incredible 540 Km of tarmac in the middle of the dunes.

From there direction to Senegal.


                          Antibes-Algeciras: 1 900 Km

                          Tanger-Marrakech: 600 Km

                          Marrakech-Saly: 2 700 Km


A roadbook will be given to every vehicle the day before the departure.

The roads are of very good quality in Morocco and  even better in Maurinania and Senegal. Only a section of 4 km between Morocco and Mauritannie is not tarmaced.


Formalities: EC drivers and navigators will need a visa for Maurinania, obtained at the border.


Vehicles:

No formality if a guarantee in given to the automobil Club of the country.
